"Foreign Correspondents" Latest News

Los Angeles, June 26, 1996: A lonely young girl (Melanie Lynskey) starts receiving romantic postcards meant for the previous tenant of her apartment. Curious, she delves into the woman's past, eventually discovering secrets about the woman and her mysterious penpal that are darker and deeper than she expected. Meanwhile, a well-meaning neighbor with his own odd obsessions (Wil Wheaton) tries to hold her back as she begins to get unnaturally involved...

Mountain View, June 26, 1996: At the same time, the story of another pair of secretive penpals unfolds in a quiet Northern California suburb. An Englishman (Corin Nemec) flies out from London to visit his penpal (Yelena Danova), a refugee from Sarajevo now living with an American family. What is meant to be a friendly visit is thrown into chaos when he becomes part of a complicated plot to prevent her forced return to her war-torn homeland...

Equal parts romance, mystery, ghost story, political fable and cinematic puzzle, "Foreign Correspondents" ties together two seemingly unrelated stories into one suspenseful drama, revealing hidden parallels between these lost young people as they tell lies, pursue their fantasies, step into dangerous emotional territory... and try to find love in a world that has all but forgotten them.
