CREATIVE LIGHT TO DISTRIBUTE "FOREIGN CORRESPONDENTS" WORLDWIDE

Los Angeles, August 1999 - Creative Light Worldwide, the trailblazing film distribution company, has taken on the worldwide distribution rights for Greenstem Productions' independent feature "Foreign Correspondents."

Written and directed by Mark Tapio Kines, "Foreign Correspondents" stars Melanie Lynskey ("Detroit Rock City," "Ever After," "Heavenly Creatures"), Wil Wheaton ("Stand By Me," "Star Trek: The Next Generation"), Corin Nemec ("Parker Lewis Can't Lose," "Stephen King's The Stand") and newcomer Yelena Danova ("Independence Day") and is produced by Julia Stemock and Greenstem Productions, Inc.

Currently on the festival circuit, the film has achieved great acclaim. Picked as one of the Chicago Alt.film Fest's "Best Bets," the Chicago Sun-Times said the film "may be the festival's one true discovery" and called Lynskey's performance "mesmerizing." The film went on to win the Best Screenplay Award at the closing night ceremonies with a SAG-sponsored Best Actress Award nomination for Lynskey.

Mark Tapio Kines has garnered much attention recently for being the first feature film director to create a web site for his film himself (yes, even before the "Blair Witch" guys). The site - located at www.forcor.com - was meant to help finance and promote the film, and its enormous success on both counts has made Kines a well-respected figure in both the online and independent film communities. This is the first independent feature film to employ the Internet as a major part of the production process. The film and its web site have been featured in articles in the Chicago Tribune, the San Jose Mercury News, The Hollywood Reporter and the Boston Globe, and on TV shows including the USA Network's "CNET Central," PBS' " Net Café" and CBS' "Wild Wild Web."

Creative Light Entertainment is an innovative film, television and distribution entity. The vertically integrated company possesses keen marketing sensibilities and has achieved great success by using synergistic techniques to execute, package, deliver and distribute ground-breaking entertainment. Creative Light was founded by multimedia moguls Scott Zakarin and Rich Tackenberg, who together created the phenomenal online landmarks "The Spot" and "Entertainment Asylum." Film and TV executive Ted Chalmers joined them to form Creative Light Worldwide, a film distribution arm to the multimedia conglomerate, which will handle all worldwide distribution rights for the film.
