Inside the house of a prominent Southern family, a heinous crime has been committed.

Now, ambitious African-American attorney Martha Parker finds herself ill prepared to take on this important criminal trial. After losing her last case, she stands by as her teenage client begins a life sentence that will resonate in everything Martha touches.
