Steven N. Karels (Writer) was born in Detroit, Michigan in 1946. Primarily trained as an Electrical Engineer and currently working in the area of remote airborne optical sensing coupled with Global Positioning System and Inertial technologies, this high-tech individual relaxes by writing screenplays. He has written Hidden Traditions (Native American mythology/sci-fi), When Androids Dream (sci-fi), New Dawn, later rewritten and renamed as Sky Fire (family drama/sci-fi) and One Shot, One Kill (action-adventure). He and his writing partner, Jim GREAT ELK Waters have won numerous screenwriting awards at Worldfest and have finished as finalists at the American Screenwriters Association, Texas Film Institute and other screenwriting competitions.

Life experience includes a combat tour in Vietnam (69-70), Bronze Star, Vietnamese Medal of Honor, a BS in Physics, Masters in Electrical Engineering and Engineer¹s Degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Laser Systems. He has been writing screenplays for over 6 years and leads the State of Maine Screenwriters group, an affiliate of ASA. Favorite books include Story by Robert McKee, The Screenwriter¹s Bible by Dave Trottier and The Writer¹s Journey by Christopher Vogler.

 

Shawnee Chief Jim Great Elk Waters (Writer) brings authenticity and dignity to each project. A writer-producer and consultant in film & TV, he has worked on several award-winning screenplays and stage scripts. He is the author of many books, essays and papers.

Since the age of three, Great Elk has entertained and enlightened audiences worldwide. He has attached to thousands of film/TV, and other entertainment productions and has been acknowledged with ensemble Oscar, Emmy and WorldFest awards. In addition he is the recipient of the Ester Blum Award. Chief Waters is the current Vice President of the Interfaith Council to the UN and a resident Philosopher & Native American Shaman.
